Safespace

Safespace is an out-of-hours, open door crisis café where you can get instant and practical mental health support. There’s no need to call ahead. If you’re feeling vulnerable in the evenings, you can drop into Safespace and speak to fully trained mental health professionals who will help you manage your wellbeing. It’s a judgement-free zone and we welcome those who are in need – whether that be due to loneliness, isolation or emotional vulnerability.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Safespace will be closed on the evening of Friday 25 October 2024. 

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Safespace will reopen as normal at Navigo House on Brighowgate in Grimsby on Saturday 26 October 2024 between 5.30pm and 11.30pm. 

If you need support with your mental health, we're still here. Call 01472 256256 and select option 3 to speak to our crisis team. They are available 24 hours a day. Alternatively, you can call 111 free from a landline or mobile phone. Or you can text ORANGE to 85258 to start a free text conversation with a Shout volunteer.

How to access Safespace

Walk-in -

There's no need to call ahead - you can access Safespace by walking in and speaking to the team face-to-face. 

Based in Navigo Coffee House, 3 - 7 Brighowgate, Grimsby, DN32 0QE, available Monday - Sunday, 5.30pm - 11.30pm.

Go Online - 

We’re bringing Safespace to you. You can get in touch through Zoom. We’re available Monday - Friday, 5:30pm - 11pm. Just click this link to connect with us.

Call - 

If you don’t have access to a computer or a smart phone, you can still access Safespace using a phone. Just dial any one of these numbers:

Safespace is a former Navigo Project of the Year winner and a joint initiative with North East Lincolnshire Mind. We opened our doors in April 2019.
