Veteran Career Transition Accelerator

University Of Hull

Empowering Veterans Through Education and Career Development.

Launched in partnership with Hull 4 Heroes and funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, the Hull VCTA programme is designed to provide tailored career development support to veterans and their families.

The course, delivered by experts from across the University’s Business, Policing, Education, Creative Writing, and History departments, along with the Student Futures team, helps participants identify their existing skills, explore career pathways, and gain practical support such as CV writing, interview preparation, and networking opportunities.

Dr Catherine Wynne, Reader in Victorian and Early Twentieth-Century Literature and Visual Cultures and Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise, Faculty of Arts, Cultures and Education, teaches on the programme and emphasised its importance: “The Hull Veterans Career Transition Programme is an exciting initiative that allows veterans and their families to harness their skills and transition into meaningful careers beyond the armed forces.”

Following the success of the inaugural cohort, applications are now open for the next intake of the VCTA programme, which will commence on 24 April at Hull University Business School.

The programme is open to ex-service personnel and their families, offering them the chance to gain industry-recognised qualifications and practical career support for people aged 18yrs and over, maximum age prior to retirement age.
